Ph.D students
The nuclear theory group at University of Illinois Urbana Champaign will be looking for graduate students in a variety of subfields related to Heavy Ion Collisions (relativistic hydrodynamics, Lattice Quantum Chromdynamics, hadron interactions, and critical point phenomena). While previous computational experience is not a prerequisite, an interest in computational physics is required. Our group strives to make the workplace a welcoming environment to people from all backgrounds, genders, races, religions, sexual orientations, and ethnicities. A number of our group members have also been involved in outreach. The group works in close contact with the experimental PHENIX, sPHENIX, and ATLAS heavy ion group at University of Illinois Urbana Champaign.
Physicists from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Undergraduates should contact the group with an email titled "Undergrad REU possibility" and apply to work for the following summer to join. Note that we often receive many requests and cannot always accommodate everyone so please apply early on.
